Good starter career place to train, acquire gov clearance, ang gain experience. Not a place of innovation, or employer initiatives. Employee must initiate career moves. Overall the people were intelligent and liked to work. Learned a lot of things and how some processes work. I would recommend working here but, it's not for everyone. Working for a company like NStec is something a budding business student could only dream of as they really are a first class organization that knows what they are doing and how they want to do it. Watching them work is something to see. My only complaint was the near non existent compensation for those who work at the remote site. 120 mile round trip commute and on average we earn less than the people whom do not directly contribute to the mission down town. In other words we must make at a minimum a 54 hour a week time investment for a 40 hour paycheck every single week of the year. While people in the admin facility make comparable pay for much less time invested.

Cons No concept of sacrifices made to work at remote site. The job consists of a small community of good people to work with. The commute is a little long, but you always have a three day weekend. Good internal advancement. Many new challenges, some help from management, but many problems left to be solved on one's own. Little vision by management in certain areas. Pros great schedule and benefits Cons Little effort to provide self improvement programs and training What I learned from Nstec was I worked hard and kept a steady pace. I respected my authority and co-workers, I followed the rules was assigned new jobs I had to ask questions and make accomidations, follow up and report back to supervisor or lead. A typical day at work was having the morning meeting, being assigned a job for the day, gatheting your equipment and or tools. Arriving on time and finishing the job completely. The hardest part of the job was having to look back at my work and taking compliments for a job well done.
